People of the Internet-
I have a lot exciting news to share!
First, my show “Woven Elements” is currently displayed at Headwaters School of Music & the Arts for the month of November. The reception is tonight from 4-6pm. Second, I will be joining my husband Jesse at Counselor Realty of BEMIDJI soon, my licensing paperwork has been submitted.
Drumroll.... Last, but certainly not least, I just found out I am receiving McKnight Fellowship Grant from Region 2 Arts Council and the McKnight Foundation to fund an Artist Residency in Ireland this spring. I will be working with traditional willow weavers.
I’m so thankful for this crazy life!
Full circle.... twenty years ago I drove from BEMIDJI to St Paul to sit through hours of classes and take a state licensing exam - for insurance sales! Now I’m working on 90 class hours and an exam for realty sales. We certainly do take some crazy roads in this lifetime!
Not to worry, I have some AMAZING art events and an artist residency on the horizon too! I have to keep the balance, right?
Thus weekend will mark my 5th year in the Bemidji Area First City of Arts Studio Cruise as a demonstration artists. See you then!
First up, I just picked up some brochures for the MacRostie Art Center's Studio Tour in Grand Rapids, MN. Let me know if you need one. The tour is coming up October 7 & 8.
I will be demonstrating my basket weaving in one of the art studios in the MacRostie with two other artists.
Next up will be the First City of Arts Studio Cruise for the Bemidji Area, October 20-22.
